Q What is POP email?
A
POP (Post Office Protocol) email is an email account associated with your domain hosting. POP email requires that you set up an email application (Outlook, Eudora, Apple Mail or others) to retrieve your email from your server.

Q What information will I need to use POP email?
A
You will need to know the following: POP Mail Server = your domain name (ex. yourdomain.com) or pop.yourdomain.com SMTP Mail Server = your domain name (ex. yourdomain.com) or smtp.yourdomain.com Account Name = the user name assigned to that email account when you requested setup for it. Password = the password you requested for that account when it was setup. In some cases, a temporary password was assigned to your account at setup.

Q What is a "forwarded" email address?
A
A forwarded address is an email address for your domain that redirects email to your domain email address to another email address. ex. you@yourdomain.com forwards to you@mydomain.com.


Q What is SMTP?
A
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) The main protocol used to send electronic mail from server to server on the Internet.

Q What is a "catchall" address?
A
A "catchall" is an inbox or folder that any unassigned email to your domain is sent.

Q What is IMAP?
A
IMAP or Internet Message Access Protocol is a method of receiving messages that are kept on your server. You can download the message from your email client anywhere and still have a copy on the server.
